David FitzeChair of Board

David Fitze has been a Member of the Board since 1996 and Chairman since 1999. A former Local Authority Chief Officer, David is now a Local Councillor in Croydon serving the Fairfield Ward. A Member of the Croydon Primary Care Trust Board, Whitgift Foundation Care Committee and President of Croydon Whitgift Rotary Club.

Trevor MorganChair of Development and Regeneration

A fellow of the RICS and freeman of the City of London, Trevor is Chair of the Development and Regeneration Committee. Trevor is a non executive Board member of the Croydon Business Improvement District Ltd, Croydon Skyline Ltd and the South East Regional Board of the RICS. He is a member of South London Partnership's Olympic Group 'Go South Go', Croydon Council's Cultural Partnership Board and St Mary's, Farleigh, Parochial Church Council.

Tony TuckerChair of Audit

Tony Tucker has been a member of the Board since 2004. A qualified accountant, Tony worked in the City for three investment banking firms over a period of 32 years before retiring in 2004. He is Chairman of the Parish Council and Treasurer at his local church in Purley.

Derek RichardsTreasurer

Derek has been a YMCA board member since 1978, serving firstly with the YMCA of Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark and then with SLYMCA during the merger of Lambeth and Croydon YMCAs. Derek has served in senior board positions and on a number of committees. Since taking early retirement 10 years ago from a senior banking position he has occupied his time with holidays, fitting in between those sojourns his other roles as a Justice of the Peace and a volunteer driver with The Children's Trust, Tadworth.

Hilary KnightBoard Member

Hilary joined the Board in 2009. She was brought up in south-west London and returned there to live in Streatham 10 years ago. She has worked in local government, the third sector and for two government agencies - the Housing Corporation and the Youth Justice Board. She works as an interim Manager in the housing association sector, currently as Business Services Director at West Kent Housing Association. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and has an MBA.

Gareth FendickChair of Human Resources

Gareth joined the Board in early 2010. A Chartered Occupational Psychologist, Gareth has worked in senior HR roles across a number of large 'blue-chip' organisations for the past 10 years. Gareth has been Head of HR at Betfair since September 2010, working previously at Ford Motor Company and Nestle.

Richard HuntBoard Member

Richard joined the Board in early 2010. He is currently Head of Communications at the Pension Protection Fund, based in Croydon. He has spent more than 30 years working in journalism and public relations for organisations in both private and public sectors. Born in South London, he went to school in Mitcham and his first job in journalism was as a reporter on the Croydon Advertiser. He was also the second Public Relations Officer ever to be appointed by Croydon Council. Richard hopes his all-round communications skills and knowledge will help raise awareness, and contribute to South London YMCA’s valuable work.

Andrew LoweBoard Member

Andrew joined the Board in early 2010. In 2011 he became the Motor Underwriting Manager for esure, the insurance company that includes Sheilas' Wheels. Previously he was a Commercial Director at RBS Insurance, responsible for home, travel and protection insurance provided through partners and brokers including NatWest, RBS, Prudential, Nationwide, Virgin, AA and Saga. Prior to this, Andrew spent 5 years managing the Direct Line home insurance business within RBS. He has a background in banking and has worked in a variety of roles in Barclays, TSB/Hill Samuel, Flemings, Norwich Union and Virgin One account. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and is a committee member of the ifs School of Finance in London (President 1999-2009). He completed a full time MBA at Cranfield School of Management in 1997. He sits on the Career Advisory Panel of Whitgift School and lives in South Croydon with his wife and three young children.

Bruce MooreBoard Member

Bruce joined the Board in early 2010. Since December 2006, he has been Chief Executive of Hanover Group, which manages some 19,000 rented and leasehold retirement properties throughout England and Wales. Previously, Bruce was Chief Executive of Wolverhampton Homes and before that Deputy Chief Executive of Anchor Trust. Bruce is a qualified solicitor and holds an MBA. He has also served as a Board Member for a number of housing associations including acting as a Housing Corporation appointee.

Philippa ThomasChair of Services and Performance

Philippa Thomas joined the Board in early 2010. Philippa has thirteen years’ experience of the homelessness and voluntary sectors, including eleven in a range of management positions, and has previously served on the Board of Wandsworth Women’s Aid. She is currently Quality Manager at St.Mungo’s Community Housing Association.
