Where is the project?

The service is based in Thornton Heath.

Who is it for?

Crocus House provides supported housing to vulnerable women aged 18-65, primarily those with mental health needs.

The purpose of the service is to work closely with customers towards gaining independent living skills. All customers have come from residential care or hospital and require support in daily living skills, including, cooking, cleaning and budgeting.

How can I get a place there?

All referrals are made by the SNAP team at Croydon Council.

How long can I stay?

Length of stay is long term, from 5 - 10 years.

What are the facilities?

There are five self contained flats.

What support do I get?

Crocus house provides support during office hours, from Monday to Friday.

All customers are delegated a key worker who has the knowledge and links with appropriate agencies who work with mental health. Key workers give support to customers in the following areas.

  • Daily living skills
  • Engaging with external agencies
  • Engage in meaningful day time activities
  • Preventing relapse in mental health
  • Tenancy sustainment.
