New YMCA Proposed for Sylvan Hill, Upper Norwood

South London YMCA is developing proposals to replace the existing hostel at Sylvan Hill with a better quality residential building, designed to meet modern standards and provide a more positive short-term living environment for young people (aged 16-25).

The scheme will provide good quality accommodation for approx 76 young people.

Local architects Howard Fairbairn MHK have developed the initial plans in consultation with some of the YMCA’s young residents and stakeholders.

As part of an on-going consultation SLYMCA hosted a series of informative workshops in July to present these initial proposals and gather feedback from the local community.

Please find below the supporting exhibition showing details of the initial proposals and a report of the community feedback gathered during the consultation workships.
